The Birds and the Bees Project [28 Apr 2010|09:34pm]

onlyifyouknew
Hey! I'm Bre, and I have a possible favor to ask. Here's the deal:

I have a sexual awareness/sexual health survey on my blog. The blog is for a project I have in mind where instead of relying on the government to teach our kids about sexual health, we take it upon ourselves as a community. I hope that one day there will be able to be classes about sexual health and awareness that isn't linked to schools. Another part is to almost create a "street team" of young adults who help educate their peers with information. One on one seems to be the best way people can learn about this taboo discussion.

I do have a little more information on my blog if you would like to learn more, or join in to help. What I would really truly appreciate this early in the game is for as many people as possible to take the survey. It takes approximately 5-15. It's approximately 55 questions, and majority of them are multiple choice.

Now the first half of the survey is general information, the rest begins to get very personal. I understand the embarrassment you may feel answering these questions but it's anonymous. I have no way of linking who said what. Trust me I wouldn't even be able to find out if I wanted to, haha.

So if you could take a few minutes to look it over and fill it out, it would mean the world to me. If there is anyway you could also post the link/survey anywhere, to anyone that would also be amazing! I'm trying to get as diverse answers as possible, and want a huge variety to make the results as unbiased as possible.

For more information simply check out my blog at http://thebirdsandthebeesproject.wordpress.com

You can link to the survey through there or the direct link to the survey is: http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=dHRPWC1HMVliVHA1M2g2WUV5MThtbHc6MQ#gid=0

Thanks for taking the time for hearing me out!
Cheers,
Bre

Just wanted to inform everyone of a car wash taking place at Sunset North Carwash in Paso Robles on Saturday, April 25th.
Car wash is being put on by a group of students from Cuesta College.
All the money raised will be donated to Supplies for Soldiers, a charity run out of Paso Robles, that sends care packages and needed items to LOCAL soldiers who are stationed overseas. Every person the charity helps is a citizen of SLO county. (currently about 30 soldiers)
Please pass on the information to your friends and family!
Thanks!

Don’t forget!
SATURDAY the 25th! ALL DAY! PASO!

Hey! We're Still Drinking Liberally! [02 Jun 2008|12:27pm]

lorriet

We are an informal, inclusive progressive social group. Raise your spirits while you raise your glass, and share ideas while you share a pitcher. Drinking Liberally gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place to talk politics. You don't need to be a policy expert and this isn't a book club - just come and learn from peers, trade jokes, vent frustration and hang out in an environment where it's not taboo to talk politics. We'll be at The Graduate (990 Industrial Way), this Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. We buy the first pitcher, so don't be late!

Oct 25-31st.... HAUNTED HOUSE! [24 Oct 2007|04:02pm]

sup_mang
Anyone in San Luis Obispo over the next week should check out the haunted house. Its about a 12 minute walk through a 2000 sq. ft. building in down town San Luis Obispo. It runs the 25th-31st. Tours start at 7 and ends at midnight. Visit Traditional Tattoo's Costume Shop and House of Horrors at 956 Monterey (on the corner of Morro and Monterey next to Urban Outfitters).

Also, they have a costume shop at the same location. If you haven't got one yet or still need accessories... stop by.

New to Paso - Need House-friendly friends. [20 Aug 2007|11:01pm]

So, I'm new to Paso Robles, moved here from Las Vegas, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in going with a random stranger to SanFrancisco on Friday to pull an all-nighter to see Dj  Colette perform with a live band at DNA lounge, or at least to meet up out there, before heading back early saturday morning.

Please tell me there's at least one kindred spirit here who can dig some decent house vibes.

Visiting [31 Jul 2007|04:20pm]

zerozander
I'm going to be in that area in December. As you may know, it's hard to look for a discount hotels over the internet or in travel magazines. Most nice Mom & Pop places can't advertise nation wide. I'll be having dinner in Casmalia which I believe is in SLO county. I'll also be in Morro Bay. I'm looking for something clean with some kind of breakfast served. Internet access a plus. Anything between $19.99 (rare) to $49.99 a night is fine. Thanks!

Bottoms Up, SLO! [02 Jul 2007|07:13pm]

What is Drinking Liberally?

An informal, inclusive progressive social group.

Bars are democratic spaces - you talk to strangers, you share booths, you feel the bond of common ground. Bring democratic discourse to your local democratic space - build democracy one drink at a time.

While drinking liberally, always remember to drink responsibly, and make liberal use of designated drivers. Drinking and driving is reckless and irresponsible, like a neocon war or corporatist tax cut. Liberals, don't do it.

The nuts and bolts: When: First and third Wednesdays of the month, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Spikes in SLO, 570 Higuera Street.
Why? Because, beer is good, and hanging out with like-minded folks whilst enjoying the sudsy beverage is even better!

Questions about the organization? Check out drinkingliberally.org. Questions about the SLO chapter? Shoot me a message!

Attention: Central Coast Residents! [22 Mar 2007|02:52pm]

spinninghead

"Supplies for Soldiers was founded by the wives of deployed Guardsmen to help improve the morale & welfare of our local troops deployed in harm's way. The troops we support come from all over the California central coast, and beyond. All of the Soldiers on our mailing list have local ties to our community. We are a small community that has been hit hard with the recent deployments. We currently have over 150 men and women serving their country all over the world."
